The McDonalds Ballarat FNL is pleased to announce the appointment Matt Newton as the Football Competition Manager.
Following the resignation of long serving employee Scott Carey in October 2022, the league undertook an administration restructure. Following a recruitment process, Matt Newton accepted the role and will commence on Monday 16th January 2023.
Having been most recently employed at Basketball Ballarat, Matt brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in both competition management and understanding of the needs and challenges of volunteers and community clubs.
With a new agreement signed with the MCDFNL, Tom McGregor will continue as Operations Manager and will further expend his management role by taking on the operations of the BFLWomens competition. This will ensure more time and resources are dedicated to expending and building on the BFLW through 2023 and beyond.
Gemma Murphy continues as netball manager for both the senior and junior BFNL competitions. Season 2023 will see exciting developments driven by Gemma in the pathway program to ensure that BFNL netball is the premier elite talent pathway for aspiring juniors.
With Shane Anwyl as general manager and the expertise of staff to support league clubs, the Ballarat FNL is well placed to continue as one of the premier competitions in both the region and country Victoria
